The Sportsphysio clinic will no longer be accepting card payments from 1st October 2011.
Following recent communication from our merchant provider advising us of yet another increase in charges, we have taken the decision to cease card paymets rather than pass the cost onto you, our customers.
Many customers are unaware that the business has to pay for the cost of processing credit and debit cards and whilst the large stores can hide this cost by adding a penny or so to various products around the store, most small businesses are stuck with losing around £1.50 to £2.50 per transaction when all costs are taken into account.
However, in keeping with technology, we can now offer people the option to pre-pay using PayPal, either via their PayPal account or by credit and debit card. We can agree this with you at the time of booking and send a PayPal invoice which will need to be paid before your appointment.
Don’t worry if you need to change your appointment, we will carry the payment over, but if you cancel, we would have to make a refund charge equivalent to our charge for the processing of the payment.
Chip and Pin cards were introduced by the banks and merchant companies with a view to being safer than the cheque…this has not proved to be the case and the cost of protecting against fraud is being passed to the end users. We do not feel it is acceptable to pass this charge onto our customers and as such, trust that you will understand our decision.
Cheques
The Sportsphysio.com still accept cheques with the clients address written on the back. We ask you to do this because the cheque guarantee card system became invalid after 30th June 2011.
Cheques should be made payable to: The Sportsphysio.com.
