The Sport & Performing Arts Injury Clinic recently reviewed the Flexyfoot ferrule for walking sticks and crutches.
The Flexyfoot ferrule is a strong rubber device which replaces the original ferrule (rubber or brass tip) on your walking aid(s).
Why did we choose Flexyfoot?
Primarily we were interested in the device because it helps reduce pain and discomfort in the upper limb associated with using walking sticks and crutches.
Not only does it provide excellent shock absorbancy but the flexibility of the Flexyfoot also helps avoid slips on wet or uneven ground offering more stability and peace of mind.
The Flexyfoot was really easy to clean, even after being on wet, muddy grass.
Fitting was very easy and when the treads wear down, replacement components are available which avoid having to renew the whole thing. The device if available in four sizes; 16, 19, 22 and 25mm, along with a heavy duty (black) version for those who are very active.
We think the Flexyfoot ferrule is a long awaited answer for people who rely on medium to long term use of walking aids.
